I have been neglecting my blog. We are busy getting ready for Christmas and fighting a winter funk. Both boys have been sick the past week and now I have it. At least we will be over it by Christmas. Here is a pic of Noah helping Greg string lights on our tree- In Shorts! Typical TX weather- it was 85 degrees that day and a few days later we were trapped in our house by an ice storm. No wonder we are all sick!
Wyatt is changing every day. The strip of hair on his head just keeps getting longer and still sticks straight up. He is rolling over and grabs at everything. My hair is his favorite. He is also quit the talker. 'AAAAAAH' is the extent of his vocabulary, but he says with so much purpose and emotion. He has is dad voice that carries over all other noise. He is not sleeping through the night yet. We get a good 5 hour stretch and then he wakes every 3 hours to nurse. I can't complain- he is a hearty eater and reliably takes good naps during the day.
We are heading to Dallas this evening for Christmas. We are having Christmas day with my family and then the day after with Greg's. Noah is busting with excitement. He has such a good boy helping pick out gifts for his brother and cousins and helping me wrap presents. He knows the gifts are 'secrets' and he says he 'can't wait' for everyone to open their's. I can't wait to see his face when he sees gifts. In Sunday school he has learned all about the birth of Jesus and knows the names of everyone in the story. They did an activity where they wrote on a piece of paper what they would give Jesus for his birthday and then they wrapped the paper up in a little box. Of course, Noah said he wanted to get Jesus a car. I don't know when the next entry will be so I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and God Bless!
Meme came for a visit last week. She is better than Santa as far as the boys are concerned. We spent a day at the mall buying stuff for the boys and for Christmas. It was Wyatt's first time at the mall. He wouldn't sit in the stroller but he happily hung from me in the carrier all day. Both boys behaved really well and were pooped at the end of the day- as were mom and I. Meme was thrilled to find out Wyatt likes her singing, or at least he laughs when she sings. The rest of her grandkids ask here to stop singing. In this picture she is singing him Jingle Bells.
Noah took this picture of Wyatt and Meme. Wyatt was hungry and not in the mood to be photographed. This was the morning Meme left to go back home. Doesn't she look a little tired and delerious? Two boys will do that to you!
Here are the boys with Santa. All I have are prints so I just took a picture of the picture. You get the idea. Aren't they just too cute? Noah didn't really understand that his picture was being taken or he might have had a better smile.
We had Thanksgiving with the Godsey clan at Greg's parents house in Lago Vista. There was way too much great food, so I got to take home some yummy leftovers! Wyatt was a sweety for everyone. He made sure to flash smiles for all his relatives, especially Mama G. In this picture he is having a conversation with Mama Jo and Daddy Joe. Noah loves visiting Mama G's house. He is the king of the castle when he is there. Bob, Mema's friend, took him for a ride in his convertible Porche Boxter- he was on cloud nine! On Friday after T-day, Greg's parents watched the boys while we took advantage of 'black Friday' sales and went and saw Harry Potter. It was fun to get away and be carefree-kidfree adults for a few hours. Thanks Mama and Papa G!
Here are my adorable boys in matching outfits. The back of Wyatt's outfit says 'Wanted' in old west letters. My mom and I took them to see Santa. Noah hopped right in Santa's lap and told him, in great detail, about the big Mustang 'just like Papa's'. Noah got a professional haircut while we are at the mall. He looks very handsome.
Well, I posted the pictures below and intended to write about them that same day but I became to busy to do so. And it just hasn't settled down since! As you can see, Greg has taken out our new sail boat several times now on both LBJ and Lake Travis. He gets down right giddy when he gets to go sailing. The other two pics are of Noah with Molly and Wyatt. He is a wonderful babysitter. Molly just loves him. On the other hand, Wyatt seems to be just tolerating him. Noah moves too fast and is too loud for mellow yellow Wyatt right now. I'm sure he will be just as fast and loud before I know it!
I know this is not the most flattering picture of Wyatt and I, but it is one of Noah's first pictures that he took by himself. Not bad for a 2 year old! Last weekend we went to the lakehouse on Saturday to try out the new sailboat. Greg took out Noah and then took me out. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to really learn how to sail. Noah loved it- no fear at all. I may have pictures from the weekend soon.
Pictures just don't do Wyatt's smile justice. He is very choosey on who he flashes this big smile. I think I am the only one to get it so far (me and the flashing star on his play mat). He most often smiles with a crooked little half grin that will some day make girls swoon. On Thursdays I watch a friend's little girl, she is only 6 weeks older than Wyatt. In exchange she keeps Wyatt so I can go to the gym on Mondays. Baby Molly is a hoot. She is in a squealing stage right now. She loves Noah- which is good becuase her parents and us have already prearranged their marriage. Watching two babies and a toddler is my other workout time during the week. I am worn out this evening!
Wyatt had his 2 month doctor's appt. today. He is 12lbs (80%), 23" long (75%) and his head is 15.75"(70%). He is a chunk of love! Poor thing also had to get 4 shots. He stopped crying as soon as I picked him up, but he is pretty sleepy now because of the busy morning and the tylenol. No new picture this time.
Dori worked her magic and took an awesome picture of Wyatt smiling. It was taken while visiting family in Dallas last weekend. We got to see Geoff and Dene's new place, attend Dori's spooky Halloween bash and take the boys to a small local car show. Whew! What a weekend. We had a great time and the boys were pooped afterwards.

We got a sailboat! Greg found this Laser sailboat for sale through a sailing club in Austin. It is the same class of boat he and his family used to race. He was able to trade one of his bikes for it. He is so excited he can hardly stand it. He can't wait to teach the boys how to sail someday. For now he will teach me, which will not be nearly as enjoyable for him! It is one more fun activity we can do as a family. Our garage cannot handle another hobby, though.
Here are my boys lookin' cute in their winter jammies. Noah and I love the cold weather, but Wyatt seems to hate it. He freaks out when the slightest breeze hits his face. Between that and not liking the stroller or carrier, Noah and are getting cabin fever keeping Wyatt happy. I didn't think it was possible that Greg and I could have a kid that doesn't like being outside! Surely he will grow out of that.
Grandma Stalcup got Wyatt the world's softest chenille crib sheet so I just had to let him lay on it in only a diaper. He laid there a good 20 minutes just relaxing. He might have laid there longer if mom hadn't gotten the camera out! I wish they made sheets like that in Qn size. We went to the doctor on Wed to get our flu shots. She let me weigh Wyatt. He is a whoping 11lbs 7oz! Noah didn't much like the shot, but he was really good and recovered quickly. I got the FluMist- a nasal vaccine. It was no big deal, but now I seem to be having a little mini flu side effect. The weather here is in the 70s and gorgeous. We went for a walk and Wyatt screamed most of the way. He hates everything but my arms. I kept stopping to help him with his pacifier and Noah finally said "your gonna have to let him cry, mom". So we did. Noah is such a good big brother.
Here is the closest thing to a smile I have been able to capture on camera. That was taken yesterday. This morning (4 am to be exact) he gave me some really dashing ones. I am so excited that he is finally starting to develop a little personality. I will keep taking pictures as his smiles get bigger and more intentional!
The second picture I posted just because he looked so darn cute. Sorry these pictures are a bit blurry. I was avoiding using my flash because Wyatt doesn't much like it and it seems to bring out his little milk pimples and makes his baldness really stand out. I'll try to get some good ones for those of you who like to print them out.

Here is a sweet sleep smile. No real awake smiles yet. He gave me half a one the other day. He is much more serious than Noah was. He looks at us like we are from mars when we talk to and make faces at him, but he coos and makes almost-smiles when he is lying on his activity mat. I don't know how much of a 'people person' he
will be. In the second he is taking another nap in the boppy. He really doesn't spend as much time in the boppy as you might think from these pictures. Noah enjoys 'sharing' his cars with Wyatt, which usually means driving and parking on him. Wyatt is getting big. We haven't been to the doc in while and don't have an appt until Nov so I have no idea what he weighs. I do know that he is filling out his 0-3 clothes and is the same length as his changing pad on the playpen. He still doesn't like the swing, the bouncer, the carseat, the Baby Bjorn or the stroller. He has the most fun just lying at the floor staring at the ceiling fan or a toy. It is great when we are at home, but a pain when we need to go anywhere. Hopefully, he will get better at being out and about as he gets older. The rest of the family is doing great.
We went to the Austin Botanical Garden this evening. I dressed the boys to match in hopes of getting some good pictures. We got there 30 minutes before it closed and then we ran into some Aggies we knew and ended up running out of time. We took this picture in the parking lot! We will have to try again some other day. I also tried to get a picture of the boys and Greg. I got a great one but it ended up being a little out of focus when I pulled it up on the computer. This is the best one that is in focus.
We went to Chuy's afterwards hoping to have a fun family dinner. It was crazy. I had to nurse Wyatt in the parking lot, he was awake the whole dinner and had to be held. Noah was ansy. The place was so loud that we couldn't even hold a conversation. We found ourselves shoveling in our food just to get out of there. At least we had some really yummy fajitas and margaritas! Now we are worn out and cranky from our little outing. Hopefully everyone will sleep good tonight.
Noah is as wonderful as ever. He loves his little brother (sometimes a little too much). His energy levels are off the chart- he even wears out his dad. He loves all cars and talks nonstop. 100% BOY.
I just can't seem to get my website up and running- it might have to do something with me having a newborn and a toddler around the house. So my friend Christie gave me this great idea. A blog! This way I can keep family and friends up to date and it is super easy for me to do during kido naptimes or before bed. Enjoy! Wyatt is 4 weeks old today. Isn't he a cutie? This is my favorite little elfish face. Despite the male patterned baldness, he has a very kissable head. Last Wednesday he began rolling from his tummy to his back. He is a great baby unless his belly hurts, but that is understandable.
